My name is Kiron Fan, and I’m a multimedia illustrator and designer working in traditional and digital mediums. I graduated in 2025 from Pratt Institute with a BFA in Communications Design Illustration. To me, while the discourse around AI and its usage in art and design has been taboo at worst and controversial at best, I believe that a fair discussion regarding its usage is impossible if people can't even tell if what they are looking at is generated artificially or not. Whether or not human art is the future of commercial design, or the superior form of work is irrelevant if people can't even tell a difference between the two, since the boons of human made work can easily be stolen and appropriated by fraudulent AI creations without a proper verification method. Art to me is not just a product, it's a process. And it's a process best enjoyed when the creator is a thinking, feeling human with everything that comes with the experience of living in this world. When I’m not drawing, you can find me petting my cats, going for walks, and practicing martial arts.
